Catching Up

November 22nd: I'm grateful for Missionaries!
That boy in the middle is Spencer Niederhausern and guess what?! HE GOT HIS MISSION CALL! I am so insanely proud of him and I am grateful for him to go out and teach the people in Brazil! Missionaries are amazing and dedicate 2 YEARS (or 18 months) of their lives to serving the Lord and teaching people. How amazing is that?! I'm grateful obviously for Ian who is a missionary as well but this post was mainly about Spencer who got his mission call!! He reports April 15th to the Brazil MTC! Go Spence !

November 24th: I'm grateful for my Grandma
My grandma is one fireball of an little old woman! She is one of the funniest people I have ever met. She laughs at the weirdest things, and her reactions to things are so exaggerated and over the top I love it. She is crazy and I wouldn't want it any other way!!!!

November 25th: I'm grateful for the peace I can receive from this gospel.

In light of recent evens of the chaos going around in St. Louis, I want to share something I posted on my facebook...
"I … stand upon this principle, that the truth is in the gospel of Jesus Christ, that the power of redemption, the power of peace, the power for good will, love, charity and forgiveness, and the power for fellowship with God, abides in the gospel of Jesus Christ and in obedience to it on the part of the people. I therefore admit, and not only admit but claim, that there is nothing greater on earth, nor in heaven, than the truth of God’s gospel which he has devised and restored for the salvation and the redemption of the world. And it is through that that peace will come to the children of men, and it will not come to the world in any other way."-Joseph F. Smith

Sometimes in the midst of chaos we need to remember how our Savior, Jesus Christ would react in this situation. Would he be rioting with those people? No. He would be comforting the families on BOTH sides of the situation. Would he be looking only at this situation based on race? No, he would know that this would've been the decision no matter what color of skin the people involved have. Would he be fighting on facebook about it? No. Maybe he would share his testimony on a few comments about showing charity and being kind. I believe we need to pray for both sides of this situation for the people who are causing chaos to stop, and the people who are being affected by it will be kept safe. I'm not saying everyone needs to convert now, but what I am saying that whatever your religion may be, I know one thing most all have in common is being Christ like, a Christian. I encourage us all to step back and think, if the Savior stood beside me, would he like what i'm doing or even saying? What would he want me to be doing?
I know that peace can be found through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and by reacting in a Christ-like manner. We need to make the effort and try to be more like him and I think people will catch on.

too blessed to be stressed

I was stressed yesterday but then I remembered to count my blessings!

November 17th: I'm grateful for my heated blanket
Heated blankets are the best thing man could ever make...one thing that could possibly make them a tiny bit better would be if they were cordless...a girl can dream right? Right. But, I am so grateful to have this beautiful creation right now in this cold Rexburg weather right now!

November 18th: I'm grateful for the knowledge I have to know I will see my grandpa again.
This day marked exactly a month that my grandpa has passed away. That is insane that a month has gone by that fast! But, I am grateful to know that I will see him again one day. He is there with his family right now and my Heavenly Father watching over me and protecting me. I am grateful for that! I know that there is life after death and that we will see people again.

November 19th: I'm grateful for food.
I am so grateful I have food in my fridge to provide me the nutrients I need! Sometimes I don't have that much food, but it is better than nothing right?! Right. I love food a little too much sometimes but I'm grateful I am a full fridge and that there is food on the table for me to eat.

Blessings | Playing Catchup

November 14th: I'm grateful for movie nights & picture experimenting.

Friday night, Natalie and I spent the night watching movies, eating chips and dip and experimenting for her photography assignment. Sometimes I absolutely love staying in on a Friday night. I had a week of being sick and just needed another night of rest.

November 15th: I'm grateful for Christmas decorating!

Saturday morning, my roommates and I decided to start decorating for Christmas. I love this time of year and yes I know thanksgiving hasn't happened yet but, the snow makes it feel like Christmas!!

November 16th: I'm grateful for the atonement.

Today in church we talked about prayer and being shepards but I was scrolling through Pinterest and saw a quote that said "The Saviors Atonement will overcome and compensate for all the unfairness of Mortal Life." -Elder Quentin L. Cook. How awesome is that!? The atonement isn't just for sinners, it's for us ALL. We should apply the atonement to our lives every single day. The savior loves us and comforts us through the atonement. That is an amazing feeling and makes me feel so so good! I love this gospel.

November 13th: I'm grateful for snow!
I'm not the biggest fan of it anymore but I am grateful that I get to have a winter and for snow! It makes everything seem so quiet and calm. I love when snow first falls and no one has touched it yet. so beautiful and peaceful. Even though it's cold and freezing its still gorgeous. Plus it's always fun to bundle up and drink hot chocolate :)

Classics

November 12th: I'm grateful for grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.

It's cold season and guess who caught the bug... Me. Stuffy nose, Sore throat, cough, exhaustion and more. It's the worst. I don't remember feeling this sick in a long time but you know what always makes me feel a little better? A grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of tomato soup. Not too hot and not too cold. Feels so good on my throat and in my tummy. Being sick blows but it makes it feel a little better when I make something that reminds me of home and when my mom would take care of me.

Another Day, Another Blessings

November 11th: I am grateful for Veterans and those who are serving right now.

Today is veterans day, if you didn't know, and I wanted to say how grateful I am for Veterans and those who are serving our country right now. If it wasn't for those people, I wouldn't have the freedom I do now. I'm grateful for everything they've done, are doing, and will do for this country. People risk their lives to make sure other people have better lives. How amazing is that? Thank you veterans, for everything. Actually, thank you doesn't even begin to describe how grateful I am! Happy Veterans Day!

Let's count our blessing's

Lately I've been seeing on other bloggers post's, that for every day of November, they blog about something they're grateful for. Now, I know I'm 10 day's behind but its better late than never right? I think its easier to be happy when we look at all our blessings in our lives. So many good things that our Heavenly Father has given us! Instead of dwelling on what we don't have lets dwell on what we do! It's easier to be happier than to be sad.

November 1st: I'm grateful for the restoration of the Gospel and the Gospel.
Most of you know, that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, and I wouldn't be one if it weren't for the restoration of the Gospel. Joseph Smith restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without the restoration I would truly be lost. I wouldn't have the answers I do now, I wouldn't know what this gospel is. I am forever grateful for the restoration! This gospel is the best thing that could ever happen to my life and the best thing that could ever happen to YOUR life (if you aren't a member or are!). This gospel brings indescribable happiness. This gospel gives me answers when I am most confused.

November 2nd: I'm grateful for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ
How grateful are we to have a Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally? SO BLESSED. I am grateful for him everyday in my life. He gave us his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. Who died for us, for our sins. He took on every single sin, hurt, pain, happiness, everything FOR US. So that we would never have to be alone. I am eternally grateful for him. I know that as I strive to be more Christ like, like my Heavenly Father wants US to be, not just me, I will be happier. Our Heavenly Father has given us so much, that we must not take anything for granted. I could go on and on about how I am so grateful for them. I am not ashamed to love my Heavenly Father. He never leaves us alone, when we feel we are going through something, he is THERE. He is always there. His love for you is always there whether we feel like we deserve it, or feel it or whatever. It never goes away.

November 3rd: I am grateful for the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson
I am so grateful to have a living Prophet who receives revelation from our Heavenly Father. He speaks the truth to us in our conference meetings. He is blessed to lead this wonderful amazing church and have the power to do so. I am grateful for his kindness and unselfishness. There is a story that was shared in last general conference where he had given not only his second suit to a man in need, but also the shoes of his feet. He was walking barefoot in the airport! How amazing is that? He did not even think twice. He teaches us to be kind and loving just like our Heavenly Father wants us to be.

November 4th/5th: I am grateful for my Family.
Even though sometimes, my family is crazy, I wouldn't want it any other way. My family is hilarious, kind, caring, thoughtful, weird and all around fun. They support me and always encourage me to do my best. They love me no matter the circumstances and even at the end of the day, if I am driving them crazy, they are there. Our Heavenly Father put us in our families for a reason and I am so grateful for mine! My family is the best I could ever have and I wouldn't trade them for the world! I love them so much!!!!! My parents are amazing. They support me in school (financially as well!) they make me laugh, they always know what to say to cheer me up!

November 6th: I am grateful for Natalie Fisher.
I am so lucky to call this girl my best friend! We didn't start hanging out, a lot until this summer. We first hung out 4th of July 2013. I don't know why we never hung out before. She is awesome! We always go on dates together, well dinner, but they're basically dates hahaha. She makes me laugh, always gets me to try something new and is an amazing listener! I can trust her with anything. I am never NOT laughing when I'm with her. She is an amazing best friend and anyone would be lucky to call her, a friend. I am grateful that Heavenly Father put her in my life when I needed a great friend because I don't know what I would do without her.

November 7th: I am grateful for my education!
As much as I sometimes hate, BYU-Idaho I am so grateful to go to a University that is from the Church. Not only, is every building dedicated on campus, but I am able to go to church every Sunday and I am surrounded by people of the same belief as me! I am also grateful for my education because, I am able to learn! I am able to expand my knowledge beyond what I knew before. I am learning so many new things every day! This University is also available at an amazing price! I do not know what I would do without my education!

November 8th: I am grateful for the outdoors.
God created so many amazing beautiful things that some people take for granted. I love the outdoors and seeing new things! This day, I got to go to Mesa Falls, about 45 min, north of Rexburg and it BEAUTIFUL! I cannot believe God created that. He created so much that we don't realize and appreciate! I am grateful for the trees, the fresh air, the grass, the mountains everything! I am so grateful for the outdoors especially when I am at home in Washington because there is SO MUCH AIR! I love running outside and breathing in all the oxygen into my lungs! ;) Plus, I am grateful for the places I am able to camp and hike outdoors!

November 9th: I am grateful for the temple.
I know I'm not endowed yet, but I am so grateful for the work I am able to do now in the temples! It is amazing! Temples are beautiful and amazing. We are able to do amazing things in there and receive amazing blessings!!! I cannot wait to get married in the temple :) I am grateful now that I have the opportunity to do baptisms for the dead! I am also grateful to have a temple so close to me while I am here in Rexburg at school.

November 10th: I am grateful for prayer.
Prayer is an amazing thing. I feel so close to my Heavenly Father when I am praying to him. Also, I am amazed when I receive answers to my prayers. It is AMAZING!! When you pray and have faith that Heavenly Father will answer your prayers, he does and he listens. Lately I have been seeing the power of prayer so strongly in my life and I am forever grateful for that. I created a habit of daily prayer in the morning and at night but also whenever I feel the need to talk to him or need a little extra comfort. It is amazing what prayer does and seeing it work in your life!
